tongue ring Getting a piercing? I recommend Stikky Fingers in Fells Point of Baltimore, MD.
In October of 2001, I got the perfect piercing from them, exactly where I wanted it diagonally down the center of my tongue. I had no pain besides the swelling of the tongue from the initial piercing making eating and drinking difficult.
I was pulling back ice water like a straigtedge frat boy at a Perrier kegger and eating nothing but ice cream and cold tomato soup, but I was diligent and didn't smoke, kiss or touch my piercing until it was healed up around the jewelery three weeks later.
Although I never used the sea salts like they recommended, I did a regular rinsing and Listerine regimine for four weeks, twice a day and after every meal.
I switched back to (relatively) solid foods after ten days. After three weeks I dropped my tongue stud down from 1.5 inches to 1 inch at 16 gauge, then two months later finally dropped down to .5 inch. I've enjoyed my piercing it without any pain or irritation after the second week.
I've been told that the Tongue Joy has a certain appeal.
