Epistolary has a new design from last night, basically just changed the image over in the corner and modified the cascading style sheets. If it hadn't been three image files combining into one image I could have just put a new CSS file into place and not had to rebuild all the static pages from the database last night.

I realized last night that I still need to do a static rebuild every week or so the past entries reflect any link terms that I've "lit up" by writing new articles. In the first run of the build, everything gets cross-linked in the database and lets me check for any inconsistencies. On the second run all forward and backward links are connected.

Of course, if my visitors click on one of the dynamic links, they'll get all the newest content correctly linked on every page they visit regardless of when it was written or updated.

Did anyone else understand that at all?

It's a cold gray day today, so I'm pretty much holed up in the house playing with my snake and moving furniture around. I never thought I'd actually have a shortage of multi-outlet adapters, but I think if I move the modem and the hub to the other side of the room I should be able to free up two more outlets for the snake tank so she doesn't freeze to death.

Suz has cabin fever, so she'll be out and about today after she drops Alex off. I've got a bunch of stuff to do around the house, but I'll probably take a short ride around the neighborhood around 18:00 on my newly repaired bike.

Only 8 loads of laundry, 5 stacks of paperwork and 6 liters of Mountain Dew to go until bedtime. Wish me luck!

I basically quit using Everything a few days ago. I have my own relational database, I don't need one where someone can randomly kick away my rants or intermingle my life experiences with anybody but my favorite person. Now it's time to pull all my old favorite articles over to the new one.

Thawing a mouse for Box. Should be ready in a few hours. She seems famished.
