July 7, 2009 Elissa got cool news today. Since it's her news and not mine I'll let her tell it on her own schedule. But trust me, it's cool. (Update: She's a full time librarian at Enoch Pratt Free Library.) I was going to go to the Baltimore Free School meeting but in light of the big news headed down to Golden West for a celebratory dinner. When I got home I realized that the event ran until 10pm (at least according to Facebook), but I was too exhausted for anything else even before I left Hampden.
Tomorrow I have to clear out all the to-do items in my e-mail box, or at least get them into actionable form. I've been letting a lot of things queue up and I'm starting to reach that uncomfortable level of outstanding tasks that makes me a little squeamish. Luckily I've been able to keep up with the staple chores: trash, laundry, dishes, and the lawn. Everything else I can get to in time.
Downloaded all my starred items from Google Reader today. As I mentioned earlier this evening, it's "914 things I've found interesting enough to bookmark but not write about since 3/29." Hopefully this weekend will give me a little time to parse through and correlate some of that stuff. I was worried I might have to learn the API and a dozen REST commands to get what I needed, but I just had to add n=1000 to a RSS URL and I was done. Google wins again.
Looking forward to seeing Brian, Karla, Mike, and Rob tomorrow. It's been too long all around.
