Bill Carlson writes, "This American Life had a segment on a Willie Nelson fan who installed a phone line under the name of Willie Nelson and then listened to the messages left on it. My first reaction was that BillGates.com would have been (or could be) a subject for the program. But then Willie Nelson (the real one) spoke very movingly about his feelings when he found out about it. I'd like to get a tape of the program so that I could remember exactly what he said, but in essence it was this: 'Those messages are for me, and anyone who listens to them is invading my privacy and harming my fans.' You really have to hear it in order to get the impact of the emotion. "
