Bob Ehrlich November 6, 2002: He won the election for Governor of Maryland. Lets see what Bob will do in the next 4 years. Parenthetical preferences are mine.
He's got until November 5, 2006. I'll be watching here.
The Bob I like:
I was in favor of Bob Ehrlich for governor, until my research led me to believe that his dedication to gun rights has been spotty at best and his opposition to abortion rights has been constant.
Ehrlich's plan for balancing the Maryland budget is short and sweet. Slots. Of course, if the Democratic legislators want to make him look like a fool, they'll block slots. Then he's got his plan to . . . oh wait, there's no Plan B.
On August 8, 2002, Bob Ehrlich wrote a personal letter back to me answering my questions about gun rights with a stance of punishing those who commit violent crime and taking firearms from felons. What a no brainer! He never
really made any firm committment to the rights of citizens to practice their Second Amendment rights like I asked him for in my e-mail.
It seems to me that he doesn't want firearms in the hands of people any more than any Democrat in Maryland. Sadly, the trouble with his strategy of picking the moderate point of view to win the Democrat swing vote means people like me aren't that eager to get behind him as a candidate.
On October 19, 2002, Ehrlich defended his stands on abortion.
On October 24, 2002, he attacked Kathleen Kennedy Townsend for being negligent about criminal background checks in the state of Maryland.
In my opinion, his overall dedication to personal liberties is awful and I'll be voting for Spear Lancaster instead. At least there's one candidate who believes that a woman and a gun owner can make good decisions without government intervention.
