May 18, 2008 Good things keep happening to me. I'm not even worried that I'm going to jinx it by saying so here in front of the universe. The universe is on my side. I think we understand each other better now.
I keep meeting great people, and forging stronger ties with family and friends. Every week brings new experiences and character into my life. Every day more people will know me--not just my writing or my work or my creations. Every day I know more of another individual, to carry their a little bit of their effect within me around the world.
I am taking control of the anxieties and concerns that have had control over me for years. Specters of illness and debility no longer hold sway over me. I will no longer be a slave to what might happen, or the fear of growing old, ill, or decrepit. I may be sad if these things arrive, but I will not fear them.
I am taking command over the physical clutter that has had a death grip on my psyche for so long. The more I try to hold on to specific objects for their potential value, the more worthless we become. The more something proves its worth to me every day, the more value we share. Those things that fail to prove their value will find new homes.
I am becoming focused and building my inner strength for things that are in my future. Fun things. Amazing things. Fantastic things. Amusing things. Sad things. Hard things. Terrible things. Awkward things. Beautiful things. Heart-wrenching things. Life things. They'll all happen and no amount of fear, planning, cajoling, scheming, or evasion will help. Only that inner strength will cause everything to be a success.
Every morning that I reach out and seize the day, I'm rewarded. Every night that ends having erred on the side of safety, I regret. This is a very different paradigm than the last ten years where the universe has rewarded my discretion and caution. I accept it, and I embrace it.
Here's to a bold new life, starting every day.
