Mom came into town today. After breakfast at Overlea Diner and a trip to Home Depot we totally cleaned the unfinished side of the basement and crated and bagged a carload of things to send off to Goodwill. We also managed to bag about a dozen more bags of trash to go out to the curb including a bunch of things I've had a hard time parting with over the last few years.

The enormous tree that sits in the neighbors yard to our rear is shedding large branches like crazy with every new storm. The one that sits across our phone lines and cable lines and pulls them as tight as a violin string appears to still be going strong. I noticed our neighbor out back staring at the ten foot long branch he had knocked loose trying to figure out what to do. I needed some more firewood so a few minutes later attacked it with my reciprocating saw and had a neat stack set out to dry in about half an hour.
