First eleven survey results from the LJ poll experiment Over the last two weeks I've been posting surveys to my LiveJournal account see how my friends (and sometimes larger invited communities of fur-wearing folks) feel about certain issues. Here are some of the more interesting results:
If you were to need to write about multiple Madonnas 57% said to use "Virgin Marys" while 30% think it should be "Virgins Mary."
Out of the 32 people who voted in the phone survey, 100% have used a cell phone, and 0% have used a public pay telephone in the last two months.
A combined 52% of my friends prefer their dance music between 120 and 155 beats per minute. Only 14% would prefer it not be played at all.
The Baltimore residents in the traffic safety poll voted on the safest speed to drive I-695 during the day out of 5 mph increments. The mean answer was 69.32 mph, the median was 65 mph (32% voted for this) and the standard deviation among answers was 6.96 mph. This coincides pretty well with actual beltway traffic.
On the topic of Nalgene bottles, 68% of respondents don't care.
The greatest number of respondents (79%) thought it was all right to bring a personal magazine into the office restroom stall. As many people (13%) thought it was all right to bring food into the stall as it was to bring a cell phone to have a conversation. If using the cell phone for SMS, 58% said it was okay.
Caffeine consumption peaked at "several cups of coffee" per day at 42%, while 17% consume no caffeine at all. No one consumes over 3 grams per day.
Surprisingly, people who don't wear a wristwatch outnumbered those who wear an analog wristwatch by over 2 to 1. Only 3% of respondents wear a digital watch.
Owners of only automatic transmission cars made up 50% of the respondents, to only 31% who only own manual transmissions. A surprising 6% are hippies who own no car at all.
Guys who take their scrotum out of their pants to pee in a urinal at the office made up 40% of the votes, while normal folk who leave their "boys" in the dark made up a respectable 60%.
In public restrooms, more people kick (55%) than pull (46%) the handle on a commercial flush toilet.
