Today I had a fellow at my client site notice my ACLU button pinned to my coat and proceed to tell me that he believes the ACLU will go down in history as one of five things that destroyed America. I was surprised because I consider him a fairly smart and open-minded sort of guy. He noticed my reaction, called himself a conservative and they often "go too far" in the things they defend. Sadly, we didn't have time for a longer discussion because he was on the way out the door, but it certainly took me by surprise.
