What's in your wallet? Merlin Mann writes about the Jimi wallet that holds only five cards and three folded bills. It's designed to be impossible to get more cards in there to make you carry less.
I feel like just four over the minimum I could carry at any given time. My standard contingent includes:
- Drivers License (a man's gotta drink).
- Health Care Card (So the E.R. would have it from minute one).
- ACLU membership card (can't be "card carrying" without it).
- 3 business cards (I make commission on new sales).
- American Express (For any place that takes it).
- VISA (For everyone who doesn't).
- Visa/ATM (For the inevitable ATM run).
- Whatever change I have from my paycheck allowance.
Except for the ACLU/business cards, it would be hard to pare down from that. I've had it chock full before and that was a wholly unpleasant experience.
