Samuel Alito got sworn in today, and Ben Bernanke replaces Alan Greenspan.

I'm learning more about 2332.5 to 2345.0 MHz propogation than I ever wanted to know over the course of the day. Who knew 13 cm was so wily? Apparently terrestrial propogation sucks until about 16:00, and then kicks ass. More data as I collect it.

Made the satellite antenna install more secure on the car, ran from the console under the passenger side dash and found that all the molding comes out about a half inch if pulled gently and it'll run all the way to the back seat and into the trunk without being exposed once. Then ran the antenna through the middle of the back of the trunk lid and clamped it on right behind the brakelight.

Signal from the driveway is maxed out on both satellite and terrestrial modes now, and the car is slightly more "city proof" because once the mobile base is in the glove box, only a nondescript black antenna nub even hints at the possibility of removable electronics in the car.

Current RoadyXT memory list:

  • Baltimore Traffic and Weather (Every Minute)
  • Emergency Alert 24/7 (Nationwide alerts)
  • Generic Trance Music (Decent tracks)
  • Gay Dance Music (Best station ever)
  • Public Radio (This American Life every day)
  • C-SPAN Audio (WCSP 90.1 with worse audio)
  • CNN Audio (It's how I "watch" CNN all the time)
  • 24 Hour Stand-Up Channel (This is a dream come true)
  • The 80s (For laughs)
  • The 90s (For nostalgia)
