Tuning the inductance for greatest noise is affected by the initial position of the butterfly capacitors. I'm not sure why this wasn't apparent to me earlier. I need to sit down and finish the list of inductance points for the various bands to reliably get the backyard dipole down to the absolutely minimum SWR as quickly as possible.

Bringing up the carrier from 0 seems to be pretty effective at a low-impact tune, but I want to do even better than that. Right now I have no reflection on 20-40, 1.5:1 SWR on 75 meters, 1.8:1 on 80 meters, and 2.0 and higher on 160.
