Appeals Court hearing on airline ID requirement The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral argument on December 9, 2005 on the legality of airline demands for "ID" as a condition of travel. The hearing raised a number of interesting issues not just about ID requirements for travel but about the differences (which the judges didn't seem to understand) between "identity" and "credentials".
