October 7, 2005 Playa del Fuego is on, and I'm home cleaning out my office. I can't fathom being out in this rain and being social as cranky as I am. Especially not in a tent. Standing on dry concrete and keeping an eye on my rapidly filling sump hole every few hours is enough for me.
I emptied out my office at work today, now I have just two desks, two computers, a telephone and four bare walls. It's a very disconcerting feeling. Everything is still in my car until the rain calms down tomorrow and I can bring it into the house.
At the very least it precludes packing for anything else. My eyes are bleary. I've sorted too much junk mail to dispose of on Friday and get one step closer to a simple lifestyle.
