Went to Atomic Books to see Davy Rothbart from FOUND Magazone on his The Lone Surfer of Montana, Kansas book tour. He didn't say much about the book except to mention that it was the same as the large poster version above his head, and to buy it, but he, Devon Sproule, and Peter Rothbart put on an awesome show. At any point that the thirty-some crowd wasn't rapt, we were all laughing. Devon's voice is sublime, and Peter Rothbart brought down the house with his rendition of "The Booty Don't Stop." I thought I'd be laughing the rest of the night.

I thought I might be having drinks with the group so I didn't buy anything on the table and now I have to go and pick up Songs for the Long Lonely Drive and Upstate Songs on the Internet. While I was waiting for them to set down and tend to their leaking van, I ran into Rob Hatch talking to Dan Van Allen in the store about (guess what) Playa del Fuego. Rob and I had a nice chat outside on The Avenue before it got too late and I had to go meet Suzy and the Red Emma's folks at Brewers Art for a drink and get home.

Check out Davy Rothbart's tour schedule on his website and if the tour is in your area you need to see this show. Definitely worth your time.
