Blech.

The last few days have conspired to teach me just how little control I have over the most important thing in life, my health. It's also reminded me how little I've thought about keeping myself healthy and how much of my life really revolves around it.

My week has been spent largely decaffinated, and I think I'm going to keep it that way. I had a bit of soda on Friday night when I was feeling particularly healthy, but would up finishing no more than a few sips of what I got.

I think my body is telling me in its own way what's good for me. If I'm smart I'll try to remember what it feels like to be weak and out of control of my environment when this is all over and I'm feeling better again. It's an important lesson for me.

This evening I dropped Suzy off at Red Emma's after circling the block a few times when I saw our friend Steve from Zelda's Inferno. Apparently he was waiting for a bus up Calvert Street to the Safeway when he finally managed to catch my attention (the third trip around the block, I'm embarassed to admit).

It was only a few minutes up the street so I invited him into the car we had a really nice few minutes chatting in the driving up through the city. He told me about some neat stuff going on at Mínas in general and at the Enoch Pratt Free Library on Tuesday, and I told him that Suzy will be working at Emma's again that night, so we'll probably see each other twice that night if we're lucky.

There's a lot of fun stuff is going on around here, and it's nice how the random synchronicity of Baltimore can be sometimes.
