I am having the same exactly problem as Stephen Galinsky, who wrote "After installing Mac OS X 10.3.8, my trackpad and keyboard will stop responding to inputs randomly on my PowerBook G4 12", forcing a hard reboot."

I can also attach an external keyboard and mouse or trackball to regain control, but I have to reboot before I get my laptop keyboard back.

Update March 4, 2005: A PRAM reset appears to have made the problem go away.

Update March 5, 2005: Another freeze. Went into the knowledge base and reset the PMU with shift-control-option-power. Hoping for the best.
