Plugging USB before display opens causes Powerbook G4 to freeze Random Macintosh hate of the day follows:
If I plug in a USB device before I open my Powerbook G4 when I get to work in the morning, the fans and drive will spin up, but the screen remains blank and the keyboard will not respond to any user input.
Closing the display does not make the computer go back into sleep mode, and the only way to bring the machine back to working state is to hold down the power button for a few seconds and do a cold reboot.
Usually this is just idle hate because I only do it in the beginning of the day, but I just came back from a design meeting with a TextEdit page full of notes and now its gone.
