Late yesterday I figured out how to a representation of monthly perodic interest in Excel based off of the APR of the loan, and re-calculated all my loan amounts, sliding the point where I hit 1:1 short term debt to savings ratio from May to mid-April.

This morning MBNA reported a total balance of zero. I called in the evening to have my credit line reduced to less than a fifth of what it was in the morning. The only thing keeping me from cancelling it entirely was the pleasant phone call I had with them the other day. But since I don't actually have the plastic card tied to the account, I have to login to their web site and request one before I can do any spending with them. Should keep it empty for a long while.

My available credit is still higher in total than six months ago, but more of it is secured and less of it is used.

Went to Shoppers Food and Pharmacy on Joppa Road again tonight and remembered how cool it was. We have food for the week for under $25 if you don't count the junk food. Suzy made a tasty fetticcine with ham and garlic sauce which we enjoyed while watching Reservoir Dogs and eating sugar cookies.
