January 28, 2005 More money stuff today. Are you sick of this yet?
Turns out that MBNA and Wachovia don't have an EBT arrangement wrt my account after all (although they may with the re-branded Wachovia VISA cards). EJ Mainer in Customer Service may have helped them keep a customer with his patient and detailed explanation. I guess I'll just have to wait until the paper check arrives and gets processed tomorrow.
Chevy Chase Bank finally applied my payment to my credit line, so I would have closed my account at lunchtime. Unfortunately when I showed up there at 12:30 they told me all their systems were down and they didn't expect them to be back up before 13:00.
I swear my credit accounts know something is going on and they don't like it one bit. That's all I need. Sentient debt.
Went again after work and closed everything out successfully.
Met Amy and Justin for dinner at Mount Everest to give out some debt-elimination advice. If the payment schedule we worked out is realistic (I'm hoping it is), we knocked $3,688 in interest fees with a balance transfer over the next two years. It's not much, but its nice to feel like I'm doing my part not just to help myself get into good financial situation, but my friends too.
