So Wachovia gets all their customer's credit cards rebranded through MBNA, so naturally they have a pretty close relationship that includes EFT. If I had a Wachovia-branded VISA card I would be able to do a transfer from the credit card to my VISA to pay it off, and do a cash loan from the VISA into my checking.

So when I sent in a billpay to my MBNA card from Wachovia on January 25, 2005, I assumed that by today I would be credit debt free. Yesterday my checking account read:

ONLINE BILL PAYMENT TO MBNA AMERICA 01/26

And the full amount was deducted from my checking account. I immediately logged into my account on MBNA's web site told me the full balance was due. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and assumed an overnight processing, but this morning I logged in to find out that the full balance was still there, mocking me.

With any luck, today will be "No Credit Card Debt Day", but signs aren't looking too good.

Chevy Chase Bank also has yet to deposit the check I dropped in the ATM yesterday morning or make the transfer to my LOC. Apparently all my credit line accounts have survival instinct.
