Janaury 15, 2005 We couldn't find Suzy's driving instruction certification papers, so we had to skip the driving test at Glen Burnie this morning. Instead, we took the Accord down to Essex and the MVA building in the mall. We got some paperwork that needed to be replaced and then took a few minutes to go around back of the complex and see what the testing area actually looked like. I took some pictures just for later reference. Apparently the parallel parking space is way cooler than just cones, in fact its these poles secured into cement hemispheres which will wobble around if you hit them, but there's 5 of them, two in the front and three in the back. Should be totally easy once we get the paperwork together.
After that we stopped in Columbia for a spell and then went to the Maryland Bill of Rights meeting in the Howard County Public Library. We heard a lot about how icky the USA Patriot Act is and how to do good advocacy and who was represented there, and then watched a copy of the movie Unconstitutional.
Back up to Owings Mills, we followed Phil's horrible directions to Leah's new townhouse and had a great time with our fellow video game junkies in the basement playing GTA3, Soul Calibur 2 and DDR. Rebecca, Phil and Dominic totally rock that game. I was okay on a really slow dance mix with a slow beat, but still got a "C". I guess that's pretty good for my first time.
About 1 in the morning I got seriously crabby and we bailed to a pleasant night's sleep.
