On July 10, 2002, the accounts of NextCard were frozen by the FDIC.

Correction: It has come to my attention from a helpful phone call this evening that NextCard did have their accounts frozen, but did not file for bankrupcy. A gentleman from Idaho pointed out that he could find no mention of it in the writeup. I re-read the article and realized that their accounts were just frozen. Sorry for the confusion, but reading the linked article should have pointed out my mistake.

I've got no beef with them.
