On January 3, 2005, the Light Rail from North Avenue to Hunt Valley will close as construction work shifts to the North end of the system. The following stops will be affected by the planned service outage: Hunt Valley, Pepper Road, McCormick Road, Gilroy Road, Warren Road, Timonium, Timonium Business Park, Lutherville, Falls Road, Mt. Washington, Cold Spring Lane, and Woodberry.

On December 28 and 29, as well as on January 3 and 4, MTA ambassadors will be available at the MT. WASHINGTON STATION to answer questions about alternative transportation options, construction activities, and service changes that will be implemented during the shutdown.

On December 5, 2004, the Light Rail re-opened service to the Cromwell Station/Glen Burnie and BWI Light Rail stops, allowing riders to board and ride trains along the south end of the Light Rail line, from North Linthicum south to BWI Airport and Cromwell Station/Glen Burnie.
