Possible candidates for Election 2008

Here is my running list of possible candidates for Election 2008.

Democrats:

I see Martin O'Malley winning the governorship of Maryland in 2006, two years to make a big name for himself against the presidency before his own run in 2008. If he doesn't beat Robert Ehrlich, he's in for a rough ride tho. He may take the Senate route in that case.

Hillary Clinton. Yep. She's gonna do it. I see her getting blown away in the primaries tho. Possible, but unlikely vice-presidency.

Barack Obama would make a weak candidate because of his inability to win the south. He needs to show himself up as something larger than Illinois in the next four years and I might reconsider. He's the poster boy, so I see him as more likely to be cannon fodder for a big democratic move where he trades in tons of credibility for a really slick move and a cushy ambassadorship under the sitting president.

Republicans:

Dick Cheney will be dead of a massive brain aneurism brought on by a stress-related clot and excessive internal evil. So he's out. I'm sure he'd love to rule the world, but he's more of a back-seat driver anyway.

Jeb Bush has been mired in controversy but it seems to roll off him pretty well. Guaranteed his home state in the election, for sure but brings a lot of bitterness from Democrats over 28. He hasn't exhausted any of his 8 years by this point, and he is a governor and a Bush.

Michael Steele could possibly head for a Senate seat in 2006 if they get booted by Martin O'Malley or another democrat. If not he'll be tied up for this race. Definitely a party rising star.

Independents?

Kenneth Blackwell was about to make a name for himself before John Kerry took away his thunder. Could go either way.
