Three of the top four US airlines on Wednesday disclosed heavy third quarter losses. American Airlines to a net loss of $214 million and warned of a higher loss in the fourth quarter. Delta Air Lines lost $646 million this quarter. Northwest Airlines fell to a net loss of $46 million.
