Proponents of a proposed $500 million tax increase to put more police on the streets of Los Angeles, CA are sponsoring a commercial that shows a woman and her daughter cowering next to a bed screaming for help from police who are too late to save them from a shadowy intruder slowly climbing the stairs.

Too bad they don't end the commercial with one of the women staring down through the sights of a Mossberg 500. People always tend to forget that most police departments have a responsibility, but no mandate to defend citizens from violent crime in their own homes.
