December 12, 2002 - The War on Nightlife: Inside the politics of dancing by Kate Zambreno for Newcity Chicago. Thanks to Brian Buckman for the link.

On November 30, 2002 the NYPD used the NYC cabaret law to shut down a fundraiser event by the Madagascar Institute. Those interested in helping repeal the dance laws check out No Dancing Allowed and the Dance Liberation Front, both of which deal with the dance law in NYC. Thanks to masks@blindfold.com for the tip back on January 14, 2002.

The San Francisco Late Night Coalition that was formed by the club owners there to fight similar oppresive SF Laws about busting night clubs, like th Cabaret Laws. They succesfully lobbied the SF City Council to repeal the laws.
