Waking Life For four people looking forward to a nice, simple movie after a long day, this was not the title for us. This is a great movie, but it's just way to deep for a bunch of tired, brain-disabled people. This movie was apparently filmed with real people, and then the animation done in a semi-realistic style over the original. The effect is seriously cool, but really only tolerable under the right conditions. The audio track, music and long speeches about existance, spiruality and dream theory are amazing. I'll probably burn a CD for my car so that I can listen to this movie on my way to work.
JoAnne Schmitz wrote in on July 22, 2002 to say, "All the reviews of it I read said that it was incomprehensible because it was stupid. It was trying to be brilliant but was sort of high-school."
I believe anyone listening for brilliance wouldn't find it, because it's more about the process of enlightenment in fast-forward. I wouldn't be surprised to find typical Usian reviewers giving it the shaft.
