Operation TIPS

December 4, 2002 - Wired News reports that Operation TIPS died an ignoble death at the hands of the Homeland Security Act, and the web page has been deleted. Thanks to the ACLU and other for their efforts in stopping this awful program.

On July 26, 2002 I asked my Senators to oppose Operation TIPS, George W. Bush's program that asks United States citizens to spy on one another. This ACLU action alert will let you do the same thing in two clicks.

The ACLU reported on August 6, 2002 that Department of Justice is forwarding incoming Operation TIPS calls to the Fox-owned "America's Most Wanted" television series. Dave Lindorff's Salon article, When neighbors attack! goes into a little more detail on this bizzare link.

Thanks to B.C. Dawson of the Wisconsin Pagans for the lead.

Be sure to sign on with Brad Templeton's Operation TIPS TIPS to rat out your local domestic intelligence.
