Internet Mail Only setting in Outlook 2000 On September 8, 2004, Andy Hall wrote in to say:
Hi Rob,
I've just encountered the "No transport provider" problem with Outlook 2000 connecting to Sendmail . . . and you were right, it was the only article on the web about this I could
find :-)
"Guess what - I've just fixed it! Here's how...
The fix is to change the Outlook type from "Corporate or Workgroup" to
"Internet Mail Only".
This stops Outlook being able to connect to an Exchange Server, but has no
effect on its ability to connect to Sendmail.
"To do this go to Tools / Options / Mail Delivery / Reconfigure Mail Support
and choose "Internet Only". All you need to do then is restart Outlook. An email with multiple recipients where one is rejected will now produce an
error showing you the email address which has failed - as opposed to
producing the "transport provider" error for every recipient.
"Sorted!"
Please post this solution onto your webpage about this problem so that others can discover this fix when Googling for it in future :-)"
