Maryland Bill of Rights Coalition meeting

The ACLU is helping to launch the Maryland Bill of Rights Coalition, brought together to fight for a ?Safe and Free? resolution in the General Assembly opposing the troubling provisions of the USA Patriot Act.

Certain sections of the Act will sunset at the end of 2005 unless they are renewed by members of Congress. We need to send a strong message to our congressional representatives: Take a stand against threats to liberty!

Pro-civil liberties resolutions already have been won by residents of Baltimore City, Montgomery County and Prince George's County ? representing 40% of all Marylanders. Now we are taking the campaign to people across the state!

JOIN US! The first meeting of the Coalition will be Monday, September 13, 2004 at 7:30 pm at the Paint Branch Unitarian Universalist Church in Adelphi, MD.

To learn more about how you or your organization can help the campaign, contact Meredith Curtis at 410-889-8550 ext. 115 or curtis@aclu-md.org.
