Crystal on the Charles Village Discussion List brought up an interesting point today. Remember the old saying, "It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the air force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber?"

Well she got me thinking about all the donations of flak jackets and other supplies to our woefully equipped military when she wrote: "With Bush's tax cuts and sweet business deals for his buddies, the Air Force IS having to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber, but schools are STILL under-funded."

This is truly a sad statement about our nation to any party to hear this.
