A lazy day at home, got my lawn mowed and tidied up, put some enamel on the porch railing out back (got to do a second coat on the front sometime soon), then off to Biddle Street to check on the new coffee house in Mount Vernon. I forget the name, but it's only open from 8-5 and has free wireless Internet. Sounds like a boon for local office-free workers and students, but not much for a poetry meeting. We were still starving so after a few failed phone calls to friends trying to get them to come out, we settled on a trip to Hamden for Holy Frijoles. On the way we noticed that Coffee and Cigarettes was playing at the Rotunda Cinematique. We had no idea when, so while the burritos were being prepared I logged into Yahoo on my phone and found it was playing at 19:45. We arrived a few minutes before the trailers started and enjoyed the movie a lot. It's the kind of flick where if you leave halfway through (which you're tempted to do) you'll think it sucks. But if you get through the last 15 minutes you'll realize that all the ends get tied together in a very amusing way. I recommend it to people who enjoyed Clerks for elements besides the crass humor.
