Between 8:30am and 9:30pm today I travelled from Catonsville to Allentown, PA, from Allentown, PA immediately back to Catonsville, from Catonsville to Columbia, Columbia to Catonsville, from Catonsville to Columbia, Columbia to Catonsville, Catonsville to the city.

My total mileage for that time period was 403. My average speed, including two hours in an Allentown diner, my meeting and socializing with Suzy's parents was 31 miles per hour. I sat in a car for roughly eight hours today. My speed is about 4.5 miles per hour over a similar time period in a normal day.

Total travel time for my 20 minute meeting: five hours (15 to 1 ratio). I drove or walked every mile I moved today. No passenger assistance.

Tonight I saw my first cicada of the year in Irvington outside of Kathleen's house. Then my second, then my third, then my thousandath, you get the idea.

It was mind-numbingly terrible. Suzy agrees.
