May 9, 2004 Random thoughts of the day:
- I still miss that weather station at the intersection of I-83 and I-695 westbound. Some collision took it out a few weeks ago and its just been lying in a shattered pile ever since. It was a nice weather station.
- There were a ton of flower vendors out yesterday. I think today is some sort of flower-related holiday. Maybe it's National Rose Day? Maybe I'll call my mother and find out later today.
- The nice thing about having your own blog is not having an editor. Suzy is actively volunteering from my lap, even though she has her own page that hasn't been updated since the 5th. Nothing like a backseat blogger. Good thing she's cute.
- There is nothing like a good pair of pants.
Held the Zelda's Inferno meeting tonight at Wyman Park because the All People's Congress building was locked again. It was a lovely day outside and we were passed by dozens of people walking and running their dogs, including one dog with its back legs strapped into a doggie wheelchair of some sort, propelling itself along pretty quickly by its front legs. I thought it was cute, Steve thought it was nifty and Suzy thought it was kinda creepy at first.
I started to write a poem about Donald Rumsfeld, but didn't get too far. Then I tried to compare Abu Ghraib to the arrival of Brood X, and couldn't make the connections fast enough. I'll probably try to revisit them in the near future. If not, next week.
More news today, Donald Rumsfeld, Abu Ghraib, RedHat Fedora, and the costs of military action in Iraq.
