Even if New York City were a giant TV studio

KELOWNA, BC - Canadian Privacy Commissioner George Radwanski said in a recent report: "Let me begin by saying that I am well aware that, in the wake of the tragic events of Sept. 11, there is probably some considerable public perception that a proliferation of video surveillance cameras in our streets and parks would somehow make us safer from terrorist attacks.

"But even if New York City had been endowed with so many surveillance cameras as to turn the whole city into a giant TV studio, this would have done nothing to prevent the terrorists from crashing aircraft into the World Trade Center."
