On January 23, 2002, Governor Glendening ordered the Maryland State Flag be flown at half staff effective immediately until sunset of interment in honor of Baltimore County Police Department Sergeant Mark F. Parry, who died January 22 of injuries he suffered when a vehicle operated by a suspected drunken driver struck his patrol car while on duty.
