January 2, 2004 I am a few piles of crap away from my dream of a dignified writing desk in front of the
fireplace. Of course, the writing desk won't be here much longer, but I'll figure something
out.
George Paine posted an amazing article about the
transparency of everybody's finances today, and what they say about you. If it hasn't
already arrived in essence, the day when the citizen's lives are an open book to law
enforcement and the government is a closed secret to everyone is rapidly approaching.
I've made two Visa purchases so far this year, but George (and my groaning budget) may
have convinced me to stop being lazy and switch back to cash. If I don't have it on me, I
can't afford it.
