I'd say the house is 66% clean.

Also, change is afoot. I wish it weren't.

This is a retrospective on 2003 that I feel needs to be posted to fill in some of the gaps in my journal.

I am sad to say I'm faced with a really tough dilemma. I've made a choice about it but I need to make sure that I'm making the right one . . .

Suz got back from her trip to Wisconsin the day after Christmas and since then we've had an amazing time together. We've been talking about all sorts of plans, I got her to write up a budget, we went bulk food shopping at Costco and considered our plans for the years ahead.

Last night after all of this we went to a cocktail party at a friend's house and had a couple of drinks. On the way home we had a conversation which touched on normal life (the way I was raised) and the life that Suz wants for us. When we finally got home and sat in bed she decided to get something off her chest.

. . .

This is the first I've ever heard of it and we most certainly had no arrangement that this would be in any way a part of our relationship . . . she assumed that I had gradually grow to accept the things that she did and it would be all right . . .

I've asked her to find somewhere else to live, although she has all the time she needs to do so. It was a hard decision for me to make, but one that I knew if it ever came to this I would.

Suz doesn't feel like she has done anything wrong. In fact, to justify things she called it an "exception" because it was Burning Man. I can only imagine what other art event could constitute an exception, given the right circumstances and me not being around.

. . .

I can't continue a life that I could respect myself in without following through on the consequence of her actions.

. . .
