December 23, 2003 I wish it were a summer day so that I could open up the bedroom window and enjoy the patter of rain on the overhang instead of just listening to the whirr of the sump pump sloshing it away in bucketfuls.
So I have pretty much achieved my personal best of 4 bars in 36 hours. Between last night's mini-tour and this evening's festivities, I'm making fast progress on meeting my social quota for 2003.
After work I ran home to pick up my meds from the kitchen table and clean myself up a little, then headed back to Hunt Valley to Absolute Quality to grab Justin from his office and drive into Hamden. I had completely lost track of where I was in the glitter of a million holiday lights (on The Avenue on less) when I was brought back to my bearings by Holy Frijoles. We headed another block over to Hon Bar and met up with Amy and all her friends for a drink and sandwich.
About 21:00 I figured a reasonably social crowd would have gathered at Brewers Art so I headed on over. When I got there, ReneƩ Fuego was the only other person I knew there. Erica Love arrived shortly after and finally around 21:50 we were graced by San Francisco cult personality Alicia Miziolek and Baltimore City Paper cartoonist Tim Kreider.
After a quick bit of catching up, and in the middle of Erica regaling me with stories of computer philanthropy gone sitcom-style, Rob and Dale arrive from their meal upstairs with none other than Jacki Gutenkunst! After about ten minutes they make their grand exit . Those of us left do some more socializing until about 23:00 when I make my way into the cold rain and back to the north east to sleep.
