November 24, 2003 Good news this morning from the FCC: begin today, consumers in the country's 100 most populated areas will be able to switch wireless carriers and keep their existing numbers. The rest of the country will be able to do this by May 24, 2004, at the latest. There are also provisions for keeping your number when switching from wireline to wireless phones. This is called Wireless Number Portability.
