September 27, 2003 Happy birthday to me and lots of other people.
Saturday 9:00
Another day, and another full stomach, late dinner and early bedtime has passed. I just woke up from a dream about being demoted and stuck in a cube at work, which was bizarre. I'm hoping if today isn't busy to find a quiet place to sit with my notes and my laptop outside and get my to-do lists sorted out now that all my files are cleared off my desktop.
There are showers here, but I forgot to grab a clean towel from the bathroom closet before I left so I can't take advantage of them. Oh well.
21:00
Walt lent me a towel, so I did get to clean off some. Even better, someone left a bottle of shampoo in the shower, so I helped myself to a handful. Very refreshing.
Sitting in the tent in the middle of a thunderstorm, hoping that Dan comes to get me for dinner or I'll wind up missing the second one in a row (and the second lunch). I unplugged all the electronic gear although since its all disconnected from any main system until I need the power again.
We went out on a raft together today. Saw two bald eagles and more than a half dozen blue herons on the way, and what must have been an 80 pound rock stuck in a tree about six feet over the water of the river. The current was pretty swift and the rapids were pretty impressive. We wouldn't have made it through in a canoe, but the raft handled it pretty well in spite of the fact that Dan stopped paddling all the time.
Everyone's playing the card game I don't understand, so I might as well take an evening nap. Walt suggested that I might have sleep apnea. I'm hoping he's right because it would be an easy solution to my problem lately of being completely tired all the time.
