Verizon placed a disconnect order on my line after a billing change went awry. On July 16, 2003, my phone was disconnected. Verizon says they notified me before the disconnect, but I never got a letter. The operator agreed to waive any reconnect fee and re-attach my line as of July 23, 2003.

The technician supervisor says I'm probably not going to get the same line pair back on the reconnect and to contact my DSL provider. Grr.

The ARRL reports:

Two of the most recent casualties of the war in Iraq were Amateur Radio licensees. According to an Associated Press report, Specialist Jon Fettig, KC0HSQ, of Dickinson, North Dakota, died July 22 in an ambush on a road some 50 miles north of Baghdad.
