Baltimore artist Nancy Scheer is trying to sell a used 13" CRT for $50. She seems proud of this fact, so I thought I'd share it here.

I have no Internet at home for a while, so it'll be a few days before I update again unless I can work out some sort of neighborly arrangement again.

I had the opportunity to go down to On Target with Karl this evening to put my Beretta 92 through its paces for the first time since October 2002. We went through about 200 rounds of 9mm in my Beretta (which performed like a pro the whole time), and 50 rounds of 40 caliber in an H&K he picked up as a rental.

I feel like I shot better than usual last night, because I kept going over everything I've learned about shooting over the last two years. Feet placement, leaning forward, good grip (from the Army Pistol manual) gentle pull. After five clips I started feeling a little more confident and did 5 rapid bursts of two rounds to see where my placement was. At 25' I had five in the black, three outside and two off the paper.

Once I can get a solid in-the-black grouping at 25', I'll start pushing the target back again, but until I get a longer house that's good enough for me.

It was very nice to go into On Target with my own weapon, eyes, ears and targets, and 250 rounds of UMC 9mm center-fire for only $38, plus the $20/hr range time for sharing a lane with Karl. Having my larger investments pay for themselves is a good feeling.

Afterwards we stopped at Last Chance in Columbia and got a very pleasant waitress who recommended a Robert the Bruce and the hot wings, which were both fantastic. Hoping that next Thursday I can get everyone out for another round.

On the way back over the sky ramps into the city from I-95, there was a fireworks show going on at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. I pulled the car over on the offramp to MLK Blvd. and we got to watch the finale.
