Family Time Flexibility Act H.R. 1119 The Family Time Flexibility Act is presently before Congress. The bill would allow employers to offer, and employees to receive, payment for overtime hours in the form of compensatory leave at time and a half in lieu of cash payments. Nonexempt employees who voluntarily choose paid compensatory time off could accrue up to 160 hours of "comp time" per year and would be compensated in cash for any unused hours at the end of the year. Public sector employees have had this benefit since 1985.
The vote on this legislation is scheduled for June 5, 2003.
