Fifth Amendment

Chavez vs. Martinez Amicus Curiae Brief

Mike Jarvis says, "I was arguing with somebody about military tribunals. His argument was that constitutional protections only extend to citizens. I pointed out that the fifth amendment(self incrimnation, indictment, double jeopardy) says "no person" and the 19th (women's voting rights) says "no citizen". Since the constitution does differentiate between citizens and persons, obviously legal protections extend to everybody."
