Happy birthday to Sarah Steeves!

This morning I realized that I've accomplished almost everything I have to do for Playa del Fuego ahead of schedule and it feels great. I still have to wash and pack one last batch of clothes for the weekend and tighten up my sleeping bag roll, but that's pretty much it.

Yesterday I found that a typical alkaline lantern battery provides 11 Ah at 12 volts. I figure if I take four batteries and do two series pairs in parallel (or just two in series until they wear out and then the other two) I can pretty safely cover my 12 volt, 11 Ah power requirements for the weekend.

Obviously that doesn't cover my computer gear or camera stuff, but if I'm spending that much time with my laptop over the weekend, I'm obviously not drinking or socializing enough.

I'm pretty sure I'm not taking any pictures for this event. I'll still bring my camera for the occasional shot, but its been a fragile ball and chain for two many past events. I'd like to see how much fun I can have when I'm not carrying eight breakable electronic objects with me at all times.

In a little more than six hours I'll have to get up, find some clean clothes and head off to the storage center where Donna has to dump all of her stuff this weekend. In the next few weeks she's moving to more affordable (read: smaller) accommodations closer by and starting some work for the Baltimore Opera Company, which should be very cool.

And I get to start off the sunshiny portion of the day with a little exercise.

More later . . .
