On June 2, the Federal Communications Commission is planning on
authorizing sweeping changes to the American news media. The rule
changes could allow your local TV stations, newspaper, radio stations,
and cable provider to all be owned by one company. NBC, ABC, CBS and
Fox could have the same corporate parent. The resulting concentration
of ownership could be deeply destructive to our democracy.
Use their Action Site to contact your legislator and voice your opposition to this action. The consolidation measure was approved by a 3-2 vote.
A Towson University professor is arrested for telling the police what he thought about seatbelt ticketing in Charles Village. As a former resident, I think any police effort that doesn't protect residents from robbery and violent crime is seriously misdirected.
Donna brought over a weed-trimmer for me and I spent most of the evening slaughtering plant life in the yard. Things look very tidy now.
