The RAVE Act passed today as a part of the Amber Alert bill. The bill also puts mandatory sentencing guidelines in place for federal judges. Senator Joe Biden of Delaware and Rep. Tom Feeney of Florida made this happen. The Drug Policy Alliance and Electronic Music Defense and Education Fund are upset at the trampling of civil liberties that this bill represents.

Save for the barely averted catastrophe with my cell phone this afternoon, the day has been pretty calm. Finally watched Buckaroo Banzai all the way to the end and it was pretty good. I wouldn't pay to see it in a theatre, but the DVD was a fun watch. Thanks to Karl for lending it to me the other night.

For the record, I like The Princess Bride. I just don't want to watch it tonight.
